5% less of an impact, plus less direct impact and infrastructure problems.

Most we'd get is a price jump. LA is looking at blackouts and brownouts.

Uh, ~25% of your oil comes from here. I think you're underguestimating the impact.

There\'s nothing to pillage. The richest people there are the old people, and all of their money is in other states.

They could steal the population.

CNN wrote:Arizona responded to the Los Angeles city council boycott with a suggestion of its own: cutting power to the nation's second-largest city.

The Arizona Corporation Commission, the overseer for the state's electric and water utilities, has offered to pull the plug on Los Angeles, noting that Arizona's power plants supply electricity to 25% of the city.

"If an economic boycott is truly what you desire, I will be happy to encourage Arizona utilities to renegotiate your power agreements so Los Angeles no longer receives power from Arizona-based generation," wrote Arizona Corporation Commissioner Gary Pierce to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa, in a May 18 letter.

Don't even bother telling us that the Hoover Dam still actually has electric generators.

I don't know how you bastards deal with it. I was in Maryland when I was young. It was in the 90s midday and the humidity was 100%, and in the middle of the night it was still in the 80s or something with the humidity still at 100%.

Mobile in August was a terrible idea, as well.

I'm pretty sure that, if that were to happen, California would end up passing laws just like Arizona's.
MS-13 has a way of influencing the voting population in negative ways, y'know?

Shit, I was freezing last time I was in Maryland, I mean, it was November, but still, :lol2:

There's a possibility I might be going to school in Mobile come August actually...

As much as I enjoy joking along to this, both Canada and the U.S. would be fucked in the deal.

And not the slightly sticky kind of fucked.

The statement was made: we're not cool with this immigration bill you passed. It's one thing for any random joe to voice that opinion, and it's different when a major city or, say, an Arizona-based professional basketball team does it.

Doubt LA would really go through with a boycott. Don't need to, just threaten it and voice its displeasure. On the grounds that the bill is wrong.

What kind of grounds does AZ have? "We have your electricity, so tough."

Meh. So they pointed out that a boycott would be impractical. Why are we applauding them now?

AZ has cactus jelly too.
It's a well known fact that prickly pear jelly is a cornerstone of the Californian hippie/health-nut diet. So clearly their economy will soon collapse due to the lack of cactus-based products.

Hey, we have deserts! We can grow prickly plants, you just wait!

:)

I should clarify my post was really directed at just the government that passed that bill, and the guy that responded to the LA (mayor was it?)'s boycott recommendation. Of course, they don't represent denizens of LA or Arizona in any broad sense. I hope you Arizonans don't take offense :)
