There was such an anti-labor anti-union sentiment through the 80s and even 90s where people who were otherwise to the left of communism would rote repeat 'unions were a good idea but went too far' etc. By the end of the 90s when it was absolutely clear we were getting skull fucked by capitalism it was like a bit of waking up from hypnotism and young people (anyone below boomer) started the slow tedious drive to unionize.

Well, caveat. The 80s did have a big push by unions as part of the buy American movement that included ads that suggested we 'look for the union label' but when that faded it was a quick turn in the other direction.

Most anti-transgender policy amounts to policing people's genitals like bathroom laws. In order to enforce them you're basically asking people to check other people's genitals. I don't know how you roll but when I'm in a public bathroom I try to think as little as possible about how many genitals are out much less what everyone is packing.
