Not sure if this is the right forum. What exactly is a summie? I have seen the term more and more these days, but I can’t figure out what it means. I suspect it is a term unique to the NS forums, since I haven’t seen it anywhere else

A summer poster. There is an annual influx of posters in summer during school holidays.

I have seen quite a few summies in my time. They are usually just bored shitposters and simple far-right/far-left trolls looking to get a rise out of people.

All this time I thought that (northern hemisphere) summer is a quieter time in NationStates.

My definition of the word "Summie" is:

A person who often makes low-effort/low quality posts which are in the region of spam posts. The term "Summie" usually applies to Forum 7, though it may also apply to other subforums as well.

I forgot to add the porn spammers. They seem to pop up a bit more around summer sometimes.

I've never seen the word...nor heard it.

What is wrong with playing minecraft? If you mean the multiplayer then maybe yes but if we're talking about the sandbox mode then there is no problem with that.

The only form of mining I would've been curious of when I was a kid was panning for gold in a creek or a river.

Huh, I got relatively active in the forums a month or two ago. No wonder everyone in the F7 age forum thinks I’m 17.

Kidding, sort of. I can see how folks would come to the conclusion. Not a huge deal, anyway…

I remember 2-3 years ago we had this crazy kid repeatedly spamming the forums with a bunch of all caps nonsense and making fun of the mods. So much dedication and love for bananas he had.

There comes a certain time every year where mods shine up their swords to pad their stats for the Mod Olympics. This would be the start of that time...
