The temptation to decry the hypocrisy when a group of people condemns evil that they themselves have committed is always great.

But it's not useful. What you want to do is get them to apply their critique consistently, even as it applies to themselves, and then correct it.

What?? Even the west wanted Ukraine to give up their nukes because they couldn't maintain it economically and Ukraine was so corrupt at that point (and still is) that people were worried a nuke would go missing and be squirrelled off to the highest bidder.

As great as that sounds, I think most of the controls were in Moscow anyway and I'm not sure if you can just, you know, add a new control to a nuke and remove the old one.
