Social democracy is liberal capitalism with structural assurances under it that make the whole system work.

Those structural assurances don’t really seem to hold up under pressure… and it’s still capitalism, you’re still being exploited and likely relying on the exploitation of other nations in order to make it work.

Believing in nothing, I guess? Moral vacuums tend to create their own sort of pressure on one’s inner and personal lives, though.

I’m kind of against it. I just want to make sure workers are not screwed over.

Edit: I forgot to add in “not”

Hey, until we’re actually in a place where alter-globalization is possible, I’m voting to keep the jobs in places where there are okay-ish labor laws, rather than the global southern countries we exploit all the time.

Not necessarily. As Marx himself said: “But, in general, the protective system of our day is conservative, while the free trade system is destructive. It breaks up old nationalities and pushes the antagonism of the proletariat and the bourgeoisie to the extreme point. In a word, the free trade system hastens the social revolution. It is in this revolutionary sense alone, gentlemen, that I vote in favor of free trade.”

The GOP has always been the party of capitalism. Just before and during the Civil War, the Republicans wanted to destroy the institution of slavery not because they were against racism, but because getting rid of slavery would pave the way for proper industrialization (and of course there were moral qualms that had nothing to do with race). Through the ages, the Republicans have maintained their commitment to capitalism, while the Democrats slowly shifted from being the party of the South and slavery to being the party of state intervention in capitalism.

Absolutely this. Every social democracy is fundamentally a capitalist state where the populace is just really wealthy on average and the state has made concessions to the middle-lower classes as a result. Third-worldism is actually kind of a good take (even if all its proponents are the worst kinds of people)
