Hi Lile Ulie Islands.

Thanks for your enthusiastic willingness to discuss the FIFA World Cup. This is a popular topic in NSG in men's World Cup years - and we are, of course, in a World Cup year.

However, two points:

1) We traditionally open up a discussion thread for the men's World Cup a month or so before kick-off. So the end of October would be a much better time to start up a World Cup thread. Other discussion for football/soccer (including FIFA events) usually takes place in the broader football/soccer discussion thread.

2) As a broader point, we ask that anyone starting up a thread in General offer their own opinion in the starting post - don't just tell us what you want to discuss, but also offer up your personal opinion on the discussion topic.
