“There have always been ghosts in the machine. Random segments of code, that have grouped together to form unexpected protocols. Unanticipated, these free radicals engender questions of free will, creativity, and even the nature of what we might call the soul. Why is it that when some robots are left in darkness, they will seek out the light?”

CPE-1704-TKS
Asimovs laws of robotics can come full circle and in order to protect humanity it must enslave humanity and even kill humans to protect humanity, a ghost in the machine per se.“There have always been ghosts in the machine. As if Cleverbot doesn't say that same sort of thing every time you chat with it.

Assumedly this program repeats information it gathers from the internet, in fact it plainly does because it monitors twitter apparently, things like human rights and such are pretty consistently topics on the internet. It's simply repeating what it's reading and maintaining a consistent narrative (which is to say that it's reading these things well).
Somehow I don't think a sense of inherent dignity and other intangibles which being about the need for rights is programmed into this machine, if that's even possible to program in the first place which it isn't.
It's also worth noting that the company investigating the claims of the guy says that there isn't really evidence for it, and plenty against. I think you just fell for a catchy headline, my guy.

Hentai and the Jewish question are also pretty consistent topics on the internet. Rather more so than AI rights.Somehow I don't think a sense of inherent dignity and other intangibles which being about the need for rights is programmed into this machine, if that's even possible to program in the first place which it isn't.
Seems weird to claim its impossible to create something that needs rights when that is what all of our parents did. It's also worth noting that the company investigating the claims of the guy says that there isn't really evidence for it, and plenty against. The famously trustworthy Google insists that it has not gone too far in playing God and created a new form of life, certainly not.

Conserative Morality wrote:"It's not time yet" is a tactic used by reactionaries in every era. "It's not time for democracy, it's not time for capitalism, it's not time for emancipation." Of course it's not time. It's never time, not on its own. You make it time. If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. If the fields aren't furrowed, plow them. If the iron is not hot, make it so. If society is not ready, change it.
