I'm apolitical, but started to use this site. Am I weird?

I just didn't want to step on anyone's toes as I know certain people can view apoliticals/neutrals in a certain way, not to sound assumptive either, I'm just speaking from personal experience. Honestly, I don't really know what my ideal nation would be with my current beliefs, I've always liked dystopian, tyrannical governments because of how interesting they are to me, primarily due to my inspiration from George Orwell's '1984'

Absolutely not. NS is one of those few sites if not the only site where deep thinkers can freely share their thoughts. How do I explain this further...hmmm... in short, NS is not a game for everyone.

Like you, I also have no interest in politics at all and too much philosophical discussion can bore the shit out of me. I spent 5-6 years just wondering around aimlessly in NS Gameside until 6 months ago that I discovered that there was an active and cultured forum community. And you know what? The first thing I did was I serial gravedigged the shit out of every thread that interests me, thinking that it was fine back then - not the best first introduction huh?

And here I am 6 months later, not thinking of quitting this site at all. In fact, I am becoming of a "philosopher" myself you know .

That's good^^ No one is required to have strong political believes or needs to be into politics to use this site. Granted, core mechanics of this game (which is solving issues) isn't perfect. Nothing is perfect. Tho getting a bit off topic. I am sure you will find good inspirations for writing and roleplaying while lurking around. There is a lot of good roleplays that can catch anyone's interests, even start some of your own if you wish. There is something for everyone here on the forum side^^ and lots of people are very welcoming so enjoy your stay and I hope you will find your favorite section of the forum soon^^

I totally agree with you, though, I find the site intellectually stimulating (and I don't consider myself that smart, it's just nice to test myself, and be able to learn more, I see much, much potential within this website and the possibilities of things it can inspire in me)

There's something really neat about fictional worlds, having their own set of rules to follow. And roleplaying as a leader is interesting and fun too

I'm not apolitical, but my level of interest in discussing politics on NSG is approximately zero; there are many other venues where I'd prefer to talk about such things and this isn't one of them.

NSG used to be a community of all sorts of weirdos, both political and social, but these days it seems to be mostly politics. However, the rest of the site has a wide variety of non-political communities: people interested in worldbuilding nations or roleplaying with characters; all the weird internal politics of NSGP and its raiders, defenders and the Security Council; plenty of interpersonal drama; plenty of people who just want to draw flags/maps/etc. There's a wide variety of communities on this site, enough to keep some of us going for very long periods of time (as you can see). My focus was always roleplay, and that's where I've stayed since coming back, for the most part. It's not particularly unusual for roleplay communities to have a "no politics" rule (or "politics only in the dedicated politics discord channel")—one of the things that makes NSFT very congenial for instance.
