Historically, that's not entirely true. The Papal States maintained both an army and a navy until 1870; they didn't survive for 1000 years just by relying on the goodwill of their neighbours. Some Popes were notably martial. Off the top of my head, Julius II certainly personally led Papal armies into battle during the War of the League of Cambrai.

And then there's that whole messy business of the Crusades; it would be fair to note that these were not armies trained by the Papacy, but medieval Popes certainly weren't shy about calling on others to raise armies on their behalf to advance the cause of Catholicism.

That said, Sai's proposal is functionally silly, not least because slightly under half of Nigerians are Christian, and under a quarter of Nigerian Christians are Catholic. Not that noting the latter makes the attack in any way more excusable, of course.
