Do you remember when a British tank crew member leaked classified info about the Challenger 2 on War Thunder forums to win an argument?

Well, War Thunder just dropped a new leak again, this time with a Chinese MBT crew member posting an instruction manual of the Chinese DCT10 125mm APFSDS shell for the ZTZ-99A (Type 99A) tank.

Apparently the guy posted the classified info on the Chinese website, then War Thunder users picked it up and spread it into the English sphere.

FYI the image is making rounds on Twitter with someone already making a translation of it, but I'm not going to post classified material, so seek it yourself.

I just want to share this with you guys because it's fucking hilarious, this is like the 3rd time or something already, after the Challenger and the Leclerc leaks. Your thoughts NSG?

That being said, it's a decision I imagine everyone with access to that type of information that also plays War Thunder struggles with on a daily basis. On the one hand you get fifteen to life for treason, but on the other hand you get to be definitively right on the internet- truly a once in a lifetime opportunity.

The devs legally can't use the information as they'd face persecution not only from local gov't (Russian in their case) but also from international courts, given that rather than asking for declassified information they are instead using ILLEGALLY LEAKED DOCUMENTS FROM A CLEARLY ILLEGAL SOURCE.

From what I've heard the documents actually wouldn't do that and a full examination seems to show the round is worse irl than it was in game. That is an unmatched self-own, if true.

A chinese tank
And the most recent one, the capabilities of a top secret chinese APFSDS round. (Turns out it's less capable than we thought it was)

There might be a 7th from the US Army about something, but I couldn't find proof just yet.

Never underestimate the lengths gamers will go to prove that it wasn't their fault they lost, the stats on their tanks were just all wrong.

If this goes on any further I won't be surprised if War Thunder comes out with some kind of statement begging veterans to not share state secrets.
