Daft hyperbole aside - comparing the policies to Nazi germany does nothing but trivialise the atrocities of that era and he's an idiot for doing so - as a principle, I don't have a problem with him saying what he wants, but I wouldn't want someone to lose their job for being an idiot.

The Guardian report is inaccurate. The Matthew Islands wrote:https://www.theguardian.com/media/2023/mar/10/david-attenborough-bbc-wild-isles-episode-rightwing-backlash-fears?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other
Apparently the BBC has bowed to right wing pressure and decided to broadcast a David Attenborough programme on the environment only iplayer to avoid a right wing backlash.

No references to blood and soil, flea-bearing rodents, or suggestions of an iron will and the summoning of a golden dawn, so no, it really isn't, and it's still hyperbolic daftness to try and pretend it is.Fartsniffage wrote:What the government is doing is very much the language the Nazi's used back then.
Where it's actually accurate, sure - and I have done on this thread elsewhere. But you don't need to employ daft language to criticise daft language.I hope they don't have the same intent but the language they are using should very much be called out.
You really think he was comparing to the Weimar republic? The Notorious Mad Jack wrote:He didn't compare the policies to Nazi Germany though - he compared the language being used to language being used in 1930s Germany.

Jurgen Klinsmann, anyone?

That's being too kind. Spanners are useful, although "fucking spanners" are a very niche tool.
These people are bandwagoning on a silly and absurd US distraction piece. It's times like this I think we should deport such proponents to southern US states and see how the survive the lack of tea, public transport and access to healthcare.
In any case I hate to see that Drag has become the latest punchbag for the unlikely pairing of religious zealots and child safety enthusiasts.

But the BBC aren't denying him that right. They are denying him the right to host tomorrow's episode of MOTD. He has every right to voice his political opinions but the BBC have every right to decide whether he hosts one of their shows or not.

Nobody is a fascist in this particular discussion thread or complicit in any such nonsense, it's you simply doubling down with yet more daft hyperbole.Fartsniffage wrote:You know what.
