I have repeatedly stated that I prefer what the other European Constitutional Monarchies do, a swearing of an oath before a joint session of Parliament.
Not to mention streamlining the Royal Family to be the King and Queen, the Prince and Princess of Wales and their Children. Everyone is not essential.

I don't support it, but I do not mind it. I just dislike the nonsense around it and the need for all the family members.

I would much prefer a non-hereditary appointed sovereign with a reign of 20 to 30 years. They must be no younger than 30 but step down at 80.

because monarchy as a whole is an outdated institution and mode of government that should've been swept away 200 years ago. there's no good reason a rich old white bastard should be given a funny hat and a million pounds a year or whathaveyou for being born into the right family at the right time. it's elitist bullshit.

Sure, that worked for that Diocletian guy. For his successors, not so much. The main argument that I can accept against constitutional monarchy is the one that an Englishman named Thomas Paine set against it, mainly that it doesn't really do anything or have any real power, so there is no point to it. Then again, what's the alternative, a ceremonial president like in Germany, who is just an elected ribbon-cutter for the same function. King Charles III is at least a man trained for the job of ribbon-cutting and has overseen a charity known as the Prince's Trust (should it be called the King's Trust now).

An alternate China where Mao and the Communists never came to power and Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek stayed in office until his death in 1979 (RL death was in 1975.) The present regime is naturally much less democratic and more militaristic than that of RL Taiwan.

Good job we are in a modern world with strict rules and regulations over the political establishment.

sure, but the "need" for a monarchy disappeared when feudalism gave way to capitalism in the aftermath of the industrial, american, and french revolutions. it's not necessary.

A hereditary sovereign is not needed, but I see benefits with a non-hereditary constitutional sovereign with a 20 to 30-year reign.

Not complicated enough, needs to be on the level of what the Serenissima Signoria did to elect the Doge.
