Depends on the perpetrator and victims.

In this case it is.

That's an impression people get from the cohort of Americans that would really like the world outside to be some sort of Mad Max wasteland.

I tend to avoid getting impressions from nobody, it's just silly.

You have a pool? Nice.

Yes but you’ll still have suicidal people, so maybe we should try and make them not suicidal by having a better QOL, better mental health care, and not over work people in general

Hmmm? That argument though valid seems to be raised by gun people these days. Has the gun community taken that cause up or it simply argument knowing full well people aren’t working on it?

What I read/saw didn’t mention guns. Still; you know some of these people can’t go outside without carrying one. So there might have been a couple….

The thing I saw was that they had cudgels and plastic shields. I didn't see anything about them having guns.

I saw they same. Basically these guys wanted to “fag bash”

I am surprised they didn’t find a couple…..

There’s multiple reasons why someone might carry when going outside. Living in a bad area is only one of them, you also got stalking victims, sexual assault/rape survivors, people living in the middle of nowhere, animals (both four and two legged), and some just like the way a gun feels

Indeed, which is the point. I don't put my seat belt on because I'm terrified of the highway, or because I have some particular fear of getting on a car wreck today, on the specific roads I'm traveling, but rather because it's simply a good habit. I wear a seatbelt in the car, I wear a helmet on my bicycle, I look both ways when I cross the street, and I carry a pistol on my hip. These, and many other good habits, are all comparable.

The gun community is a vast politically different group.

There’s not one single leader and not all gun owners are die hard conservatives who hate everything.

So I’d say it depends on the person, I support expanded mental healthcare that should be provided by the government and id like to think that others in the gun community would like expanded mental health care too

Which is why people want them. but regardless, that wasn't the point. the point was that a woman committing triple homicide is very different from a guy killing 18 people in a premeditated spree. But they get counted the same when people bring up "mass shooting statistics"

I get the victims of a crime. Though I could see concern of said people freaking and shooting what they perceive as a threat (granted a guess and another discussion). People living in the middle of nowhere?….don’t think that’s really a concern of the so called “gun grabbers”

Now the gun feels? Sure. Empowered does make people feel good and at times stupid. I remember years ago when pepper spray was the big thing to carry for personal defense. I forget what city; the police noticed an uptick in violence involved women. What they noticed is women started to ignore their base instincts and walked right into areas carrying the spray. They tried to educate people yes it’s a weapon. It’s not going to protect you from attack. They even went as far as to setup demonstrations. “There is a policeman out in this parking lot. He will attack you and wrestle you to the ground. Carry your spray at the ready and use it. He knows…..”. Not exact obviously. It was multiple women and the attacker took them all down. Only got sprayed “a little” on one instance. It hurt; it wasn’t enough to stop him though.

Anyway…..
