Why don't you run for office? You're the one who wants to change society so why don't you give it a go?

You don't get better candidates by compelling others to vote for bad candidates.

Better candidates != better elected officials. Even if a politician means well, they'll still be compromised by institutional influence unless they receive pressure from the public

Explaining The Disconnect Between Physical And Paper Oil Markets

tl;dr, Oil futures are going down because some people expect an upcoming recession to pull down oil demand. However, the physical market for crude is still bullish at this point in time.

If you’re talking about Bernie, I think the Democrats need someone younger to be the nominee in 2024. Someone in their mid to late 50s would be good.

states should enact anti Karen laws that impose civil penalties for people who go out of their way to get involved in things that are none of their business. Allowing the "victim" to claim up to $250 for every offense.

Sort of vague, don't you think? Who decides when there is a reason for the argument and when there isn't?

When said person was minding their own business (like swimming at a hotel pool) and then refusing to leave them alone.

Yeah, they won in 2020...after Republicans packed the Federal Courts and secured a 6-3 majority on the Supreme Court, and he won with a 50-50 split in the Senate and bare majority in the House.

It's truly a mystery why panic voting for Democrats, and that barely, only after Republicans have gained lifetime grips on the levers of power isn't resulting in progressive Utopia.

I mean every day since the 2020 Election has been a miserable reminder that thanks to Judicial appointments and State government dominance, both gained by their base turning out and voting consistently regardless of whether they 'like' the candidates or think they're 'true conservatives' or whatever, Republicans continue to wield extraordinary power despite having lost that *one* particular election, and yet people still out here going "vOtiNg dOesN't aCcOmpliSh aNytHinG!".

Your friendly reminder that if the people who voted for Obama in 2008 also voted in 2010 we might be much closer to universal healthcare, and if they had voted in 2014 we'd have a 5-4 liberal majority on the Supreme Court, and if they had held their noses for Clinton (who you might also remember, next time Biden is insisting he can still make his Republican friends see reason, declared it a point of pride to have made the entire Republican Party her enemy) we would not only have secured that majority by replacing Kennedy and Ginsburg with younger liberal Justices, but also have massively reshaped the entire Federal bench in a more liberal direction.
