It's been well known for quite a while now that their approach to dealing with it is to keep everything as quiet as possible to protect the reputation and public image of the church. So maybe it would be a bad idea to try and emulate the Catholic Church. They're actually pretty bad people.

Ironically, people are fine with pistol/revolvers even though pistols/revolvers are used in the vast majority of violent crime.

Like, I wouldn't agree to banning pistols or revolvers either, but if there ever was a target to go after, pistols and revolvers would be the logical first choice.
