Well i didn't know that about the dailymail. Thanks for informing me. I'll take that into consideration in the future.

It doesn't change the evidence though. Personal attack against me won't do anything about that, and I fully expect more news sites like cnn and msnbc will pick up this story over the next day or two once they verify it on their own. This looks bad for twitter, no other way about it. Tankies will defend them, but that's to be expected.

I expect major news coverage and a few lawsuits will happen from this.

Project Veritas have a long history of lies and deceptive editing and just fucking deranged behaviour from O'Keefe. Why are you taking the word of these proven liars?

I already answered you. What's the point in asking me that again? I'm starting to get the feeling you're not asking this stuff in good faith.

"I think that everyone that is honest can admit that Twitter has a left-wing basis" seems sadly the reasoning here.

I already agree with them so they if say they're an expert confirmating of my views on this then they are.

I can admit the Palmer report is full of shit even when the shit they spew agrees with me. So i find all this very pointless. This is not the Project vertias thread this is twitter.

They should have just brought up what convinced them in first place rather than let them fall in line with Russian supporting liars. Even if an broken clock is right twice a day doesn't it makes sense to point to one.

Oh I see now, it's not posts about the video, it's just posts attacking me. Cute. I really shouldn't expect anything less from users on Nationstates.

Pointing to a tabloid rag also running with the story isn't a reason to believe it. The evidence is coming from a source well known to falsify exactly this kind of evidence with deceptive editing. It is as if a known art forger is offering you a great deal on a Picasso and you're just ignoring the fact that they're a known art forger.

What's in this interview that can't be quote edited? What about this person makes him trustworthy past the already given evidence that your source lies about how about close it's sources are?

I have a feeling the “left-wing bias” of twitter consists largely of the fact that it allows left-wing users to continue to exist and post their opinions, rather than suppressing them on the ground that “tankies bad” or whatever.

(I actually have no idea. I’m a Twitter user, but don’t generally use it for the politics, which tend to be... strange would be a polite way of putting it; you have Marxist-Leninist anti-vaxxers approvingly retweeting QAnon accounts, arguments between communist terfs and communist trans people over who’s the true communist, self-described anarchists who have everyone but their friends on a blocklist of some kind, and so on. Twitter staff will automatically ban you based entirely on spurious mass reports and then might take weeks or months to reactivate your account, if they do at all. Meanwhile if you don’t have the capacity to mass report a clearly rule-breaking post, e.g. death threats and similar, your report will eventually come back with a “not actionable” message weeks later. Pretty much everyone, regardless of political position, describes a similar experience. It’s probably safest to describe Twitter as fundamentally apolitical and only barely moderated.)

I don't know how to better explain it though for reasons that's personal and I won't go into. But basically yeah Project Veritas = bad. Normally you shouldn't believe things they produce. But this video, this time, is different. I've seen other stories revolving around Elon Musk buying twitter which, taken into context (if that's the right term) with the video, leads me to believe that what that senior twitter engineer is saying is true. I hope that explains it better. Because otherwise, oh well.

Project veritas is an full of shit video maker. I'll try to end my snark but you literally conceded your only argument on your end besides mere assertion that the video doesn't feel like an fake.

I'm sure you're an alright person but this is an place for arguments. You should probably reconsider trying to do that here and maybe try to stick to reporting all Russia bots to the internet hell they deserve. Every little bit helps./sincerity

OT": that being said Musk is pretty clear in his statements that Russian government accounts and any 50 cent army can still post propaganda as loud as they want so on that front so it seems counter-intuitive for this guy to be the counter to that.

It feels like a clever mover. He is attempting to deliberately lower the value of Twitter so that he might renegotiate the price he actually purchases Twitter in. The value currently collapsed to $36 a share

Pay no attention to the ongoing market slide that means he might have to actually pay back the loans he leveraged against his Tesla Stonks.

tbf this is a man who thinks tunnels can't leak, so maybe he is dumb enough to think he can manipulate the stock price before the purchase he's already made agreements for.

I have very little knowledge of share markets, but don’t these industrialists do such tactics all the time when trying to get a upper hand?

Regulators like to let rich people off with a wink and a nudge most times, but that’s when nobody’s looking. When you do something this blatantly illegal in full view of the general public, even the most insular bureaucracy can be embarrassed into actions.

Sort of but this is one of those things that will get you arrested if caught. This isn't like an Enron situation where every once in a blue moon someone gets arrested for this, people are arrested every few months for doing this sort of stuff. Sure probably more is done that isn't caught but in Elon's case it's quite late in the game unless he really is the world's greatest moron, a possibility that I haven't fully discounted.

Mass reporting is frankly the most effective way to fight Pro-Russian accounts on twitter for laymen like me. Talented hackers can do more.

There's no definitive number, but the range for the # of reports required over a day for an account to be automatically banned for something (a single post, i.e) is 4~10. Petty af, but it works.

What is the biggest giveaway that an account is a Russian bot, and not just any other bot.

I’ve noticed a LOT more bot followers on right-wing accounts than left-wing accounts. Something tells me that right-wing accounts buy more bots than left-wing accounts.
