The louder the "I'M LEAVING!", the less likely leaving actually becomes. Also applies to Facebook, Tumblr, and Nationstates. We're not seeing all the quiet quitters, the ones who just silently slipped away inactive into the night. Plus the rampant bot accounts further muddying the stats.[violet] wrote:Maybe we could power our new search engine from the sexual tension between you two.

Elon says they were actually saying Boo-urns.

That's because there's a well-established inverse correlation between announcing one's departure and actually departing, a phenomenon hardly unique to Twitter. The louder the "I'M LEAVING!", the less likely leaving actually becomes. That came on the same day that three council members announced they were resigning in a public statement posted on Twitter that said that “contrary to claims by Elon Musk, the safety and wellbeing of Twitter’s users are on the decline.”

by Gravlen » Tue Dec 13, 2022 2:45 am
Also on Monday, it was reported that Twitter’s former top safety official, Yoel Roth, was forced to flee his home amid escalating personal attacks, including from Musk himself.
Outlets including the Washington Post and CNN reported on Monday that Roth and his family fled after Musk’s tweets misrepresented Roth’s academic writing about sexual activity and children.

Musk gets payback on guy he thought had "high integrity" a few weeks ago

If anyone would like to read it, this appears to be the paper in question.

I scanned over it and didn’t see a problem other than it being mighty boring, but I didn’t look too deeply.

So it’s another case of Elon hurling accusations of pedophilia at anyone who criticised him again?

Who wants to bet he's dissolving it because in the aftermath of the resignations there was actually no one working in the Trust and Safety Council anymore on the twitter side because they were the first people who quit? Or at least if they hadn't quit, had simply refused to do their jobs because they're not going to bother to try if their boss clearly doesn't give a fuck?

EDIT: Musk's original tweet.
The part where Musk posted as "proof" of Roth's pedophilia is actually him arguing for more safety measures for underage teenagers on social networks, since they are increasingly participating in those LGBTQ dating sites. Musk lied, and his lie is causing danger for a man.

He's dissolving it because they were counterproductive to the role of content moderation, finding reasons to ban people under pressure from rogue employees, while preventing action on actual illegal content, even when reported by victim.

I see someone hasn't been paying attention to the Twitter Files. We always knew this was happening, you included. Now we just have receipts, so you can't pretend to be ignorant anymore. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twitter_Files
