That time a Spanish Lighthouse told a us Carrier Group to change course to avoid collision. The fleet said "No u" the Lighthouse insisted. Navy said "This is the United States Navy Carrier Group containing (list of # of ships) adjust your course or you will be impending the military operation your government is aiding us in Iraq!" Lighthouse replied "We can't move because we are a Lighthouse maned by myself, my friend, a playful Dog, and a Parrot. This is a Lighthouse, adjust your course or you will slam into the rocks!" The fleet then changed course.

This one may have been done already. I'm not even sure if it really happened but the story goes like this.

There were too many cobras in British Raj. So bounties were put on cobras. People realized that they can farm cobras and turn them in for a bounty. The british realized this and stopped the program but the damage had been done. The cobra problem was only made worse.

You know, what always cracks me up, too?
Cats. In particular, felines taken aboard ships in the past. From HMAS Encounter's Kitty Shells to Blackie trying to start a boarding action against those Yankees only to be stopped by Churchill or Tiddles manning his action station even without action... they might veer more towards cute then comical, even if there are some fun stories, admittedly, and while their lives were not easy, they were cute.

A German Comedian got an entire hall to do the old N*z* hail greeting in 1973, and they actually did.

Its amazing how people can be lulled into following along into almost anything, even horrid expressions of hatred.

He received his graduation certificate in 1953, when he was a Major.

Well, after the Second Battle of St Albans, Andrew Trollope limped over to the king and apologised profusely. He had only killed 9 enemies! (Some sources say 15 though, depends where you look.) The reason for this terrible performance was that he had stepped on a caltrap (a nasty little spike) and so couldn't go anywhere.... and Yorkist soldiers quickly got the message to avoid the dude standing in one spot surrounded by bodies.

He was formally knighted that day.
