Yah I doubt there's any data set with accurate Chinese numbers.

maybe someone could try taking China's overall deaths and subtracting their pre-covid death rate. (that would just get you a rough death estimate, but it's probably better than whatever numbers China declares)

The FBI leaned toward the lab leak theory as being the probable reason with moderate confidence.

Meanwhile, two other agencies stated it was likely zoonotic in origin, but they had low confidence.

So it's still mixed.

Considering who they answered to is not really a surprise.

My aunt is having a severe acute reaction to the vaccine. She went to the doctor last week for unexplained bruising, her platelet count dipped below 20,000 yesterday so she is in the hospital now and getting something called IVIG.

I guess the cause is not a sure thing but it's the only theory her doctors have, nothing else fits. And there is documentation of this reaction by the NIH. Never expected one of those reactions to happen to someone I know.

Thing I never knew was that it could happen so much later. She never got a booster so it must be at least 8 months since the vaccine. I don't know if something has been happening all along but it only only got bad enough to notice this week or what.

That's good that she's recovering! That's a really unusual side effect that she experienced.
