This woman is a political operative in a judge’s robes, with insane amounts of power and next to no accountability, and like pretty much every trump-appointed judge, her goal is the destruction of the administrative state (which is most of the functioning of the country)

You can, of course, take a seat and watch as a bunch of federalist society goons take a buzzsaw to the normal functions of government but this strikes me as a bad idea!

Ok when Republicans impeach judges appointed by Democrats you do not get to say a word.

It should be appealed, because it puts workers and passengers at risk of catching the virus, leading them to take time off work which could inadvertently lose their job due to a lack of strong worker's rights n the US.

These actions have serious consequences.

Masks are not required anywhere else but transit. What is the point?

It doesn’t seem like it will be given the TSA has already said they won’t enforce masks anymore. It’s now up to the individual agency.

Yeah, but TSA will make me take my shoes and belt off and won't let me bring a bottle of water with me and will make me throw away my deodorant if its a centimeter too long. So maybe we shouldn't be putting trust in the Ministry of Silliness.

Public health experts should shut up because they're not beholden to the electorate because they're not in an elected position. That's a belief of yours that you've made clear to us throughout the past two years. Now, suddenly, we have a judge who is not in an elected position and is not beholden to the electorate and you've got no problem with them - further, you are validating and supporting the existence of their position. Hmmm, I wonder what could be the difference between this judge and the aforementioned public health experts.

The shoe thing wasn't directly 9/11 (the heightened sense of urgency for security from 9/11 helped), but another incident - specifically where a guy packed explosives in his shoes and failed to detonate them because of his sweaty feet - in December 2001.

A better, and more obvious example of the lengths we went through because of 9/11 was the immediate creation of the TSA itself and the immediate introduction of security checkpoints, required boarding passes, X-raying people and all their baggage, and requiring ID to be presented at checkpoints. Before 9/11, you could pretty much waltz into an airport for the hell of it.

But the point is a good one, we majorly and quickly overhauled the security systems at airports because of one incident. And, multiple times during this pandemic, we've seen a 9/11's worth of Americans die every few days and we've not really changed anything to mitigate that beyond "Maybe wear masks pretty please"

Ok when Republicans impeach judges appointed by Democrats you do not get to say a word.

Republicans have already packed the courts, I wouldn't be surprised if they started impeaching judges next time they have power. Hell, even then Democrats would be afraid to do the same thing if they somehow regained power from the Republicans (Because, let's be honest, Republicans are working hard to make sure they hold on to power and Democrats never hold power again and Democrats don't look like they're trying to do anything to stop them).

It already is over. Masking should be a choice at this point. If the experts don't like it I don't care. Life needs to move on. The CDC should not have the power to make law.
