You can like certain socialist-like polices, like a comprehensive and efficient welfare state, and oppose Communism simultaneously.

welfare states aren't "socialist-like" at all
they were specifically designed by politicians (especially otto von bismarck) to discredit marxist movements

And they were right to do so. :) Marxism is unworkable in real world situations.

fyi marxism is a school of philosophy and historical analysis so it can't really govern anything

...no
they are intentionally designed to suppress socialist movements and divert class consciousness to class collaboration
this was brazenly admitted by von bismarck

Then make it to where it can lead to socialism and class consciousness.

you're missing the point. welfare states are incompatible with socialism. the only way class consciousness can be organized and lead to socialism is a revolution led by a vanguard

but this is getting into threadjack territory so i'll stop

1. This is the first time I heard a communist saying that Marxism only works in theory. Thank you.

2. And Von Bismarck was right. Class warfare hurts the poor like me and only benefits the rich and powerful.

Socialism is a terrible idea. I prefer a distributist-esque system of a domination of family-owned businesses. All businesses that are required to be larger than a family to work properly should be co-owned. If property were to be owned as widely as possible, combined with several other reforms I have in mind, prices would go down and there will be true choice in the market.

1. if you talk to literally any marxist you'll hear that it's a system of historical analysis and materialist philosophy. it always was. it evolved from marx's radical anti-theist young hegelian views when he spent time as an editor for the rhineland news before it was banned in prussia. there is a clear difference between marxism and forms of socialism developed from marxism; there's a reason socialism developed from the reds faction when the first internationale split is called "marxian". it developed from the theories and ideas of marx but marx's initial theories in the communist manifesto and kapital were never intended to be a form of governance. that's what lenin, mao, and arguably engels were for. it's why i dislike the term "marxist-leninist"; imho it feeds into the myth that marx's writings were intended to create a basis for a communist government, which they never were.

2. lmao

anyways that's the last i'm going to say on this

Yes, I agree. We’re going to see a patchwork of abortion laws in the country. From outright and complete ban to making it legal up to the day before the expected date. And everything in between,

In news related to communism and ignorance - the university of Florida has removed the name "Karl Marx" from one of their study rooms "because of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia".

Note Marx was German.

Agreed and not only is that awful for women it’s going to create a huge backlash. I do not expect any bills to make it legal up to the day before the expected date. Late term abortions are very rare.
