Yeah, actually. He'll probably rule a rump state from Lviv or Kyiv and Azov will get Mariupol as a Nazi country to own, along with all the other Nazi battalions like Dnipro-1, Aidar, and S14. This suits the oligarchs in charge of Ukraine very well. A weak and feeble central government consumed by civil war means that no anti-corruption mandates can ever work, and Ukraine will remain a little piggy bank to abscond wealth out of.

You know, given the state of Russian logistics, somehow I become a bit more optimistic about Ukraine's prospects. If the Ukrainians are able to, say, wipe out more than half of the invading tanks and vehicles with far cheaper man-held weapons, we might be seeing the definite end to the era of tanks.

*Heavy fighting taking place in the surrounding cities of Kyiv with Ukraine taking back Irpin, a place heavily damaged likely by Russian forces
*Russian fleet mobilizing to prepare an assault on Odessa
*Belarussian further involvement with more Belarussian missiles launched alongside Belarussian paratroopers being mobilized
*Unconfirmed more men in Russia being mobilized
*Putin expected to declare martial law within the next hours
*Around 90% of pre-prepared Russian units are fighting in Ukraine

Odessa is west of the Dnieper river in western Ukraine. If the Russians manage to take Odessa then more then likely they will head to Transnistria (which is pro-Russian) which is 126 km. (78 miles) from that city. Wonder if they would break away Transnistria from Moldova or just take both. Wonder if Romania would accept Russian troops entering the Budjak area which is west of the Dniester river and next to Romania.

There's a consensus in the UN that the Crimea is occupied Ukrainian territory. Only 11 voted to recognize Crimea as Russian territory in a UN General Assembly meeting, compared to 100 voting to recognize Crimea as occupied Ukrainian territory and 82 abstains.

Not everyone in the Azov battalion thinks like Dmitry, but after speaking with dozens of its fighters and embedding on several missions during the past week in and around the strategic port city of Mariupol, the Guardian found many of them to have disturbing political views, and almost all to be intent on "bringing the fight to Kiev" when the war in the east is over.
