True, but most of those folks probably don't do this much. Cup half full on this one, not bad.

Tropical Storm Bonnie has also formed in Caribbean and will cross the isthmus into the Pacific(at least as a TD) thus becoming a rare storm that keeps it's Atlantic name heading west into the Pacific.

No rain or thunder for me up the other end of the state. It is supposed to cool off, though.

I very much enjoy thunderstorms. My dogs are terrified of thunder though. Brontophobia as its known is quite common in dogs.

Japan's hottest June and July ever recorded. There is perhaps less sense of urgency if temperatures get measured in Celsius as opposed to in Farenheit. Too many people won't be phased by 3 degrees rise in C, as opposed to 5.4 degrees rise in F. We should consider not using the freezing and boiling point of water as the reference points on that basis.

There is only one rather backward country still only using the Fahrenheit scale.

Which one are you referring to? Liberia? Micronesia? Marshall Islands? Cayman Islands? Palau? Bahamas?

We had our first snow of the year last night although it was only a few snow flakes and didn't settle.

Right now I'm absolutely freezing. I'm in the south island of New Zealand where it's currently -3 Celsius (25 degrees Fahrenheit.)

Reportedly something in the region of 25 Million CHF worth of damage in Canton Bern alone from recent storms and that does not include the damage caused to crops which is much more valuable. Of course, the Swiss press frame it in context of "what does this mean for car insurance", rather than "well that's hundred of tons of food fucked".
Storms here getting more extreme and the drought on the other side of the alps is nothing short of terrifying.

Ugh, it is a warm night and I have the air conditioner in my room on. It's 23 C but should fall to 16 C by morning at least.

25F is wintery, but it's not exceptionally cold. Get warmer clothes/better insulation/proper heating.

I keep my thermostat set to 56°F. (Heating only; we didn't need A/C in Vermont when my grandfather built the house.)
