Why should grade school kids learn about this subject? Either they are or they are not. If they are I have no problems with them. No matter their ages, kids or adults. We don't need to teach about this subject in any schools, either they are or they are not, and I respect them all as persons.

I really struggled to accept who I am because of the 1 time my mother told me liking other girls is 'inappropriate' when I was younger. Even though she openly supports her gay friends and is absolutely accepting of me now. It was an offhanded comment and I shut myself out from her for years because of it.

My teacher, who taught sex ed, and had a box for anonymous questions and treated each and everyone with respect and dignity and had no problem explaining the LGBT community to a bunch of 12-year-olds. If my teacher wasn't allowed to talk to us about that, I would probably have struggled even longer with my identity.

I had a coworker who is gay. We are still in touch. Once there was a fight over gay adoption. Don’t remember the year. He was all for it due to his experience of being adopted. His adoptive father was a Baptist minister. When he reached a certain age, he started showing signs of being gay (he didn’t say what) and he didn’t realize he was gay yet. His adaptive father the baptist minister tried to beat the gay out of him. He said it messed him up for years. Drug use and almost a suicide. Eventually he came to terms over it and moved on.

He was lucky.

This is why Republican Conservatives can fuck off in this area. These kids need help and support.

Oh i did message my friend asking if his father was a Reagan supporter and would he have liked DeSantis. He said yes and most likely would have liked him (he is dead).
