Do please share with us the text of the bill from which you are reading, so we're all on the same page.

You'll find the same on the first page of the PDF of the bill text linked on that page. Lines 21-23.

"sexual orientation" also includes "straight", and "gender identity" includes "cis". So a more honest title would be the "don't say gay, straight, cis, or trans" bill.

The title of the bill is, as you are clearly aware, Parental Rights in Education. "Don't Say Gay" is just a nickname. Like "Obamacare", or "Hague Invasion Act".

I did read it. And I found the bit you pointed out before. But you must realize "sexual orientation" includes more than just "gay". The bill isn't targeted at gay sexual orientations. It is agnostic on the issue of being gay. Giving straight-oriented instruction is also prohibited. The point isn't gayness, but sexuality of any kind in the classroom.

If we're going to give it a nickname, "don't say gay" is extraordinarily inaccurate. "Don't be a groomer" is far more accurate.

How does also preventing schools from talking about heterosexual sexuality somehow make preventing them from talking about other types of sexuality better? If anything it makes it worse - no sex education is complete without a discussion of the emotional and social aspects of human sexuality as well!
More to the point, does anyone seriously believe that the religious interest bloc is pushing this bill with the honest intention to enforce it equally against all of the subjects which it nominally covers? Because I sure don't. We all know exactly what kind of sexuality is meant when religious people talk about taking 'sexuality' out of the classroom.

it doesn’t define what inappropriate discussion is, thus allowing lawsuits to be filed for pretty much anything that some parent sees as “inappropriate”. this is a smart move, as it censores discussion of gender identity while proponents of the bill can claim that it just applies to inappropriate discussion.

Is this a joke? You are aware conservatives have tried to, at pretty much every turn, to eliminate sex-ed from schools. Or are you really, truly, unaware of this fact? It is actually quite insulting of you to suggest that a conservative bill passed to completely eliminate talking about sex in the classroom is not going to be enforced to the fullest extent. We don't want sex ed. Period.
