True, much of the people of Sutenland, unlike Taiwan actually did support the annexation. So when annexing territory by force even when it has a real degree of popular support is bad, it is even worse when it has basically none.
So you are right, Germany actually had better justification…
Most people in Taiwan do not support reunification since, yknow, the KMT mass murdered communists and Chinese nationalists and for several decades have been propagating anti-PRC messages to its whole population. While I support the reunification of China Im not an idiot and think it would be seamless or that the Taiwanese people currently want reunification. Hence why again, I hope for it to be peaceful
Umm the KMT has been out of power for a while now. Again what decade do you think it is?
The vast majority were born after 1947…
The problem is you and the PRC are seemingly living in the past.
The majority of people, especially the young (the fact that those born AFTER KMT one party rule ended shows your claim utterly false) do not want to be part of the PRC not because of that. They have a high level freedom of speech and press and a largely open internet (things that do not exist in the PRC). If what you say is true, why has support for “reunification” been in drastic decline since the KMT lost its monopoly on power?
Actually the KMT, and it’s overwhelming older and rapidly declining support base are the most friendly to the PRC!
The majority read multiple sources including the PRC’s and KMT’s (ironically pro PRC) propaganda.
They read it, but reject it. Because they are better off as they are, and not under Xi’s corrupt and brutal rule.
