A nonviolent populist revolution such as a general strike sounds good to me.
Just think of the Pacific Northwest under a charismatic, theocratic ruler who has many wives, lovers, etc. and was directly appointed by the hand of God. With plenty of both leftist and some rightist policies in place under his enlightened guidance. Very sex-positive laws, too. This ain't your grandfather's theocracy. It's a utopia in the midst of a post apocalyptic Dark Age.

By refusing to go into work they are harming students education. The mayor is in the right locking them out of their accounts.

By going to work they would be endangering their students' health and even lives. If Lightfoot thinks that schools being open is more important that children being safe then she's probably some kind of heartless monster.

My point still stands, the teachers want to teach but want to teach safely. If they can’t do it in person or virtually then what?

If Lightfoot wants schools to be open then maybe she should teach the students. I’m sure she won’t mind the possibility of herself getting covid

Oh I was agreeing with you, just pointing out that it is even worse than you were suggesting since this did not need to happen. The mayor is objectively making it worse.

I have identified the Biden constituency. Moderate partisan Democrats who are only fine with advancing working class interests when it doesn’t inconvenience them personally.

She probably realizes that most children aren't high-risk, and will benefit more from being part of in-person classes than they would from being forced to stay home and "attend" class via a computer.

It might get to the point where it really isn’t an issue. When that happens the pandemic could be considered over. Until then we are still in a pandemic.

Which goes up in flame when teachers or they get sick and can't attend classes anyway. Oh and, I recall that for a while it was children who were ending up in hospitals with omicron.

If your that concerned you should not be a teacher.

Do you want teachers with empathy or not?

Because before you were whining that teachers don't care enough about their students, and now you're telling teachers that care about their students to not be teachers.
