2. Refer to point 1
3. You're the only one here doing that. The rest of us were just pointing out a fact.

Canada has higher rates of vaccination and vaccine acceptance than most European countries. I'd actually say the Dutch are significantly more individualistic than Canadians.

Me criticizing overly lauding an entire continent, which varies drastically when it comes to things like abiding COVID measures and vaccination, is wanking over it? Bold if true.

I mean, you could try, but conservatives (and some liberals too) are just going to ignore such attempts.

Uggghhh nothing more frustrating than hearing liberals talk about how pro-science they are until you bring up nuclear energy or GMO's and than they promptly lose their shit.

I would guess it would depend on the argument and the evidence presented. I am not a GMO guy so can’t comment on that one. Nuke energy stigma is mainly from the events of 3-mile island, the China Syndrome (movie), Chernobyl and the people learning about the spent rods. Add in the views from wealthier people not wanting a plant or storage near them….. Sounds like ignorance and it basically is. I guess the true measure is their views after learning in greater detail.

I suspect the problem will disappear when they figure out fusion energy…….

Pro-nuclear is a no-brained. I am however into the whole farmers market/organic/slow food aesthetic, so GMO is a fashion faux-pas for me.

Also Monsanto is a shady Corp. Worse than PepsiCo.

That’s the thing though. Is it anti-science if you can think GMO’s are bad if the capitalists control it.

1. Pretty much everything you eat is a GMO, it just took slower to make.

Cows for example, aren't supposed to produce the amounts of milk they currently do, they were bred to be that productive. Or watermelons, which used to be mostly rind and empty space for water to collect. The only difference between "Natural" and "Unnatural" GMO's is that one took a lot longer than the other.

2. On the scale of nuclear accidents vs. fossil fuel accidents: Fossil Fuel is way worse. It's cause much more death and many more accidents compared to nuclear energy.

3 Mile Island, Chernobyl, Fukushima, etc... are the first accidents that come to mind, right? But those are really the only major accidents that have happened, and 2 of those were pretty well contained for the most part.

Oil and coal otoh? Exxon Valdez, Deepwater Horizon, Piper Alexander, Seacrest and Bohai, etc... are only the top of a very, very, very long list of accidents oil has caused.

I do however, think the pro-nuclear side has an issue with decrying renewables. Like, if people aren't comfortable with nuclear yet and want to test the waters first, screaming about how nuclear should be the only energy option and ho everything else is worthless isn't gonna win them any fans.

McConnell says he made 'inadvertent omission' in voting remarks amid backlash

The minority leader sparked backlash earlier this week when he was asked during a press conference if voters of color would be negatively impacted if Democrats' sweeping election and voting bill didn't pass.

"The concern is misplaced, because if you look at the statistics, African American voters are voting in just as high a percentage as Americans," McConnell said at the time.

Monsanto doesn't exist.

The Monsanto Company (/mɒnˈsæntoʊ/) was an American agrochemical and agricultural biotechnology corporation founded in 1901

because

Defunct June 7, 2018; 3 years ago
Fate Acquired by Bayer

Bayer being BigPharma, basically:

Bayer AG (/ˈbeɪ.ər, ˈbaɪ.ər/; German: [ˈbaɪɐ]) is a German multinational pharmaceutical and life sciences company and one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. Headquartered in Leverkusen, Bayer's areas of business include pharmaceuticals; consumer healthcare products, agricultural chemicals, seeds and biotechnology products. The company is a component of the Euro Stoxx 50 stock market index.[3]

So, basically, Monsanto got bought by a company that used to be part of the company that made Zyklon B.

Nuclear Power has a similar problem... it's now fiscally insensible to invest in them:

More nuclear power plants probably should've been built decades ago but whether they should be built now is very much open to question.
That it Could be What it Is, Is What it Is

Stop making shit up, though. Links, or it's a God-damn lie and you know it.

The normie life is heteronormie

We won't know until 2053 when it'll be really obvious what he should've done. [...] We have no option but to guess.

But yeah, the Germans are paying their tort bills now.
