Grosskreutz just admitted he was illegally carrying his firearm.

There were no charges for this filed against him.

EDIT: Googled that. It's a class A misdemeanor, with the exact same penalty as Rittenhouse carrying under 17 (if that garbled mess of a law applies to him)

A mystery bullet that was never found and never entered into evidence. Also does not look like Rittenhouse tried clearing a jam.

Just before the lunch break. Defense wanted to introduce evidence of gaige's roommate and the subsequent hospital visit of the photo that was taken and of course the eventual words spoken by gaige about him wanting to empty his clip(sic) into that kid. DA objected on the lines of hearsay, defense countered that the roommate is being called as their witness on Wed.
I believe the defense is just going to go with just the photo at this point and the DA didn't have a problem with that and as long the jury doesn't see the now taken down post by the roommate.

Apparently Grosskreutz was just recklessly waving a gun around.

He admitted he pointed his gun at Rittenhouse before Rittenhouse shot him. Then when the ADA did his redirect, he said he didn't *intentionally* point his gun at Rittenhouse.

I do that sometimes. I chase down people gun drawn and then just accidentally point my gun at them. Don't you do that sometimes? It could happen to anyone.

...So basically Grosskreutz should not be able to own a gun, even without the addition of chasing a person down. The number one rule of a gun is you do not point it at someone unless you intend to kill them right?

I missed it but did the defense go after the Kyle clearing a jam claim? Because in the footage I've seen, it doesn't look like Kyle's hands ever leave the grip and handguard.

That is correct. Further Grosskreutz knew Rittenhouse was going to the police and also admitted that Rittenhouse was being attacked.

I have been listening to the trial, and the only reason I can see that the state actually wanted to prosecute is because of backlash. They have nothing.

The defense brought up a post by gorsskreuts that he posted on Nov. 5 2021,about that, and said something alone the lines of listen for the malfunction with a winky emoji.

Yes. I may be misremembering but after the shooting around 2/3 of Kenosha residents wanted Rittenhouse charged. The judge should direct verdict the murder charges and the reckless endangerment charge.

Backlash should have zero influence on whether or not someone gets charged, IMO, its done so the DA can fund raise off of it.

Interesting drone footage played in court. It appears when Rittenhouse turned and shot Rosenbaum he slowed down but he never actually stopped - he spun and was still walking backwards from Rosenbaum's aggression at the time he fired.

Well this was amusing/interesting to watch

So... that should be it basically over right? If he admitted to that?

No not really, but it certainly helps Rittenhouse's case.

The last detective said based on the drone footage it "appeared" Rittenhouse raised his rifle to point at Ziminski prior to being chased. I zoomed way in and I didn't see it, but it was streamed video from the courtroom - not exactly high definition.

On cross, they asked him "here?" "here?" "here?" while repeatedly advancing the video on tiny bits.

Then he said he could see it because he could "pinch to zoom" on his iPhone.

By the way you're not some neutral actor when you're walking with a gun in an urban warzone.

There’s really no evidence thus far presented that he was looking to fight anyone.

The prosecution witnesses so far have pointed him to being a naive teenager repeatedly attempting to help people by giving them minor medical aid and putting out fires.

My viewpoints towards Rittenhouse is pretty much unchanged - he was playing Suburban cowboy, and operated under the assumption that nothing bad will ever happen because he is from a relatively safe neighborhood. He wanted to dress up, play soldier, but much like everyone who touts this , has no fuckingnidea what they are getting into or how stupid it is to out yourself in such a situation. He wasn't looking for a fight, but rather wanted to look the part.

None of this is illegal behavior. Being a dumbass and being in the wrong place while being a dumbass is not a crime.

Got a chuckle out of the exchange between the DA and judge about showing a video about some other dude going back behind the building to confront some dipshits throwing rocks.
Defense: objection, relevance?
DA: it shows the guy confronting the rock throwers
Judge: what does that have to do with anything?
DA: it shows the intent of the group
Judge: The groups isn't on trial, kyle rittenhouse is on trial
DA: oh ok then /sad clown face. nothing further.

Anyone who thinks Kyle was in the wrong is essentially holding the belief that being out past curfew is grounds for being killed. Anyone who holds that belief is an idiot.

Whether Kyle should have been there in Kenosha at the time is irrelevant. A single bad choice to break curfew doesn't mean that your right to live goes out the window.

The same people who think Kyle is guilty of murder also idolize pedophiles and domestic abusers, so I've already decided that their opinion belongs in the garbage bin.
