I know I still would have had supported kyle, had kyle been black, or hispanic, asian, etc. To me it's all about an individual's negative right to self defense.

What mob was this? My understanding of the sequence of events is that one person attacked Rittenhouse, Rittenhouse shot him, then three other people tried to disarm and subdue Rittenhouse. Because he'd just shot someone. What part of that is a mob beating him?

Generally speaking assaulting someone who is visibly armed is not really in your self interest.

For all the talk about "why was Kyle even there?" and "where was his common sense approaching the crowd like that?" I have yet to hear someone ask the question "Why were these people engaging in a riot and assaulting a guy who was strapped?"

Most of the people assaulting Rittenhouse were trying to stop him from shooting anyone else. Rosenbaum, as noted, seemed to have been having some manner of mental health crisis and might have been attempting suicide by proxy. But we can only speculate, given that he is not available to ask.

As to why people were rioting, uh, do you not remember anything else that happened that summer? Some police brutality maybe? Some people a bit mad about police brutality? A few centuries of racist oppression boiling over? I know time has gotten weird during the plague, but come on.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread - and promptly had confirmed by several posters - most Americans really seem to hate self-reflection.
Getting one to admit they made a mistake is hard. Getting one to admit their party or church did something wrong harder. That the nation itself has been on the wrong side of history pretty much the whole time - almost impossible. And that the current society is rooted in all that badness and rotten to the core - meaning that supporting it bad and - arguably - that rioting againt it is good ... HAH. Will never happen.

This contrasted considerably with testimony on Friday from Rosenbaum’s fiancée, Kariann Swart, an Illinois native who met Rosenbaum in August of 2019 and began a romantic relationship with him. She described Rosenbaum as “a very animated person.”

Swart explained that Rosenbaum was originally from Waco, Texas, and had recently moved to Kenosha around the time they met to be closer to his daughter who lived there. She and Rosenbaum were both homeless when they met and lived together at a motel in the Kenosha area at the time of his death.

Rosenbaum was discharged from a Milwaukee hospital on Aug. 25, 2020, and returned to the motel and Swart that afternoon.

She also confirmed he had been taking medications for bipolar disorder (generally, I mean. This to confirm that he had bipolar disorder, not to say he was medicated on the 25th.)

It's from the Wisconsin court system for his bail jumping related to his domestic violence charge.

And it seems (speculation on my part) the state made no arrangements for him to have any place a stay - a shelter, halfway house, anything at all. It's honestly no wonder he wound up in the middle of a riot repeatedly attacking people.
