And in Powell's case, he already had a history of facilitating war crimes in Central America. Why do people think the Bushes kept picking him?

Good. Colin Powell is directly responsible for the Iraq war, knowing full well it was a lie, and that lie cost the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. This feels unbecoming, speaking ill of the dead. Yet I just don't care how much he loved America, he helped squander America's first surplus in its history in a useless war with no obvious strategic purpose and continues to wreck havoc to this day.
Now only for that psychopath John Bolton to go before the US can heal from the disaster that was neo-conservatism.

People are too fickle in general. Bolton was loved/respected/whatever by the conservatives when he supported 45. He was of course hated/whatever by libs. It reversed when he spoke ill of 45 and now he is following orders again.
I will be surprised if he is ever charged with anything.

I'm curious: will you extend the same courtesy to all the people that died and suffered in the Cuban concentration camps designed to suppress homosexuality that your idol Che Guevara helped organize? Or perhaps all the people who died and are suffering in the Chinese concentration camps designed to erase Uyghur cultural identity through forced sterilization and the suppression of their language, religion, and way of life which deny even exist?
Please spare us your fake moralism. Tankies don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to talking about basic human empathy.

"I saw Che Guevara at a grocery store in Cuba years back.
I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, 'Oh, like you’re doing now?'
I was taken aback, and all I could say was 'Huh?' but he kept kept cutting me off and going 'huh? huh? huh?' and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him murder someone as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like 'Sir, you need to pay for those first.' At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and murdered her."
In other words? Spare me these lies. There's no evidence for this accusation against Che you pulled from nowhere (and in fact plenty to the contrary; simply follow the links and those within the descriptions of those videos if you don't believe me). And, for the record? I've made my most current views on Xinjiang clear in other threads, which you're more than welcome to seek out among my other posts if you actually care one bit; judging by the last bit of your quote here, I doubt you actually do, though, and were just seeking some quick, cheap, and utterly meaningless points by trying to do a dig at me. I'm not gonna bother entertaining it or whatever else you've said or probably will say down the road beyond this, especially given its ultimate irrelevancy in regards to this mass-murderer.
Anything else?

It was funny, actually.
NSG: Where you can joke as an actual communist about "liquidating" the bourgeoisie but a joke about assassinating a strongman tyrant is somehow a bridge too far.

Yet Mattis never had an issue seeing through their bullshit. As far as I am concerned powell lied and helped push a war that americans overwhelmingly did not want. If I were religious he would have to answer for it in the same place saddam is answering for his choices.
