Well, now that it is supposedly not happening, my guess is that the property tax on the 200 acres of land will just never be paid and it'll transfer to the US government or Colorado's state government by default. If there were someone left to hold onto it, is it worth keeping if its not very suitable for development? It seems it'd be quite a long time before it ever appreciates if it does. For all that time, it'd be a tax burden; but maybe not a huge one if the land's worth is assessed to be low.

They weren't even owners of the land but rather what's that word I'm looking for... uh, trespassers and sov cits.
