I was born in Monterey, California and lived in nearby Seaside until I was 7. I remember the part of California I lived in having very comfortable weather most of the year, lots of foggy mornings, nice beaches, woods, hills, and mountains overlooking the town. It was very beautiful.
When I was 7, we moved to my current state of New Jersey. New Jersey is the butt of a lot of jokes and many people seem to think it is just collection of urban sprawls, industrial zones, and superfund sites. I think New Jersey is actually pretty beautiful. We have nice beaches and if you go out into the state's countryside you will see some nice meadows, forests, lakes, and hills. Northern New Jersey (where I live) even has mountains and waterfalls. We aren't called the Garden State for nothing! The only downside to living here (for me, anyway) is that we get all four seasons full blast. Summers are hot and humid while winters are freezing cold with lots of ice and snow.
Next month we are moving to Texas. From what I have read, Texas is a very big state with a large variety of natural scenery. The town we are moving to is located in the Texas Hill Country, which I am told has hills, waterfalls, and looks amazing during spring when the bluebonnets bloom. Sadly, it seems that Texas summers are supposed to be worse than New Jersey summers and the state loses electricity during cold temperatures.
