Speaking of lunch; fried chicken is objectively the best lunch and dinner meal to have at any given moment ever and I will not change my mind.

People do tend to believe this, and I've struggled to convince them otherwise; despite being relatively young, healthy and recently vaccinated it did hit me like a bad flu and I spent the majority of a week in bed and basically not eating more than a very minimal amount of food. This was with the "harmless" Omicron BA.1 variant and counts as a "mild" case. BA.2, the currently dominant strain, is significantly harder on the body, so prepare accordingly.

I did manage to completely recover within 7-10 days and have no long covid symptoms, or any other lasting effects except weight loss, which in retrospect (looking at the various studies on post-covid effects in general) I'm very thankful for.
