A lot of it has to do with energy density and truly massive output of a single nuclear plant.

Absolutely, I just find it hilarious

Until concrete progress is made in energy storage methods,
so-called renewable green energy is not worthy of becoming a main course.

Especially in the case of climate change, based on the unpredictable weather, green energy will have terrible ups and downs.

When wind power in Northeast China reduced its output by 30% due to climate reasons, it triggered a specific chain reaction that led to power rationing across China.

What’s interesting is that Chinese and foreign media deliberately ignore this when discussing China’s large-scale power rationing in order to satisfy the "Responding to global warming and clean energy" cult.

in fact Northeast China is under the most hard electricity restriction, Other places only restrict industrial electricity consumption. Northeast China needs to restrict electricity consumption for people's livelihood without warning, because the proportion of wind power generation in Northeast China accounts for nearly 40% of industrial electricity consumption.

You assume such progress hasn't been made.

It has, in fact. That it hasn't reached certain parts of China (which I'm skeptical about), doesn't mean that said progress isn't being made.

Isn't the dramatic increase in the price of coal and China's price controls on electricity also to blame for the power shortage?

In general though, it is true that we will need more storage and more transmission capabilities on the grid once renewables reach a certain level of adoption.

Batteries and pumped storage hydro are probably going to be the two main storage technologies that we use, at least for a while.

Another interesting idea is thermal energy storage. The idea there is to run your HVAC system during non-peak hours, using it to cool a storage medium for later use. That way, your HVAC system doesn't need to work as hard during the hotter hours of the day, which reduces the load on the grid.

Here's an example of some Trane storage systems.

Coal price increases and power restrictions are the reasons for industrial power cuts in other regions.
Only Northeast China restricts civilian electricity due to the sudden drop in wind power.
Interestingly, because of the large power surplus brought about by wind power generation, the Northeast Power Grid has complicated and important power supply agreements with other regions. Therefore, the sudden fall of Northeast Wind Power will affect the whole country.
Ironically, because of the rapid development of wind power in Northeast China, the power in the Northeast is the richest. but when power cuts occur, the Northeast is the hardest hit.
