It better not be China, although I wouldn't be that surprised. They've got a massive amount of money from selling anything to anyone (nuclear equipment to Iran and Pakistan, arms to various countries like Sudan, cheap crap to us). Besides, they could call the debt (you know, that multi-trillion dollar debt we owe them?) anytime, although I doubt it. It would destroy our economy, which would in turn destroy the world's economy. Anyway, while China is a communist dictatorship and a crappy place to live, they're definitely an emerging military and economic power.

No, I'd be really interested in this multi-trillion dollar debt, source please.

Sorry, I mistyped. I meant multi-billion.

Oh that is nothing we could repay that by raising taxes back up to what they were under Reagen.

Or just starting another world war to increase production and get people back to work.
Hey, just some theorizing, here...

I advise fighting a bit more east, this time. Perhaps Iran as first part of the new axis of evil, North Korea as second and France as it's backup. And please obliterate the French language, while you are at it.

We'd just need to fight eurasia and eastasia on and off. Could always switch allies occasionally.

That doesn't seem right. Come on. Fight the French! You know you want it.

You know ... I hate the French language. There, I said it. And now go out and obliterate them!

So, hey, you never know.
It's a lot more likely than Canada ever becoming a superpower.

Actually....Japan can't declare war on anyone...so...yeah

Doesn't matter. That doesn't mean they won't build a friggin' moonbase.

Do you know how many of Japan's resources does Japan have to import? at least 70% of them. It is a good inversion for everyone, as Japan has almost no resources. I think Isaac Asimov based Terminus on it.

If Japan would devote half of the energy and resources it uses to fuel the neon signs in Tokyo alone, they could float the whole island up to the moon...

Oh, yes that will solve all our problems then. Like our national debt isn't high enough already, starting a third world war would put people beck to work, but also in turn creating many enemies for us and possibly destroy our country one state at a time. Might start a second civil war and the United States could end up like Russia did after WW I. USSR, although it dose seem like our great nation is like a communist country government owns much, has control over privet enterprises and threw away the term laissez-faire.

India-growing economy and they wont have an ageing problem like China in 50 years time. I also feel countries like Brazil, Indonesia, Poland, and Turkey are going to be Soft-Powers with an increasing economy. If North Korea and South Korea unite then they'll be the Germany of Asia, replacing a declining (economically and population wise) Japan. The Koreans are innovators while the Chinese right now are mass producers of other countries' innovations.

If Israel actually makes peace with her Arab neighbors, she has over 300 million people who are willing to purchase her goods and services...a huge market potential for Israel.

Most of these countries are more likely to become regional powers (Brazil, Turkey and Israel are already regional powers) than a superpower.

If we're talking IRL, France is in eurasia, since eurasia is Europe and Asia. If we're talking about the hypothetical scenario where we start world war 3 to increase production and make people work, put forward by one poster, which I then suggested that the U.S. Annex the British Empire and call it Oceana (canada would be in it too), then yes, France is in Eurasia.

Eurasia is only the little stripe between Europe and Asia (there where both tectonic plates reach each other).

France is too far to the west to be anywhere near the Asian plate. Turkey and parts of Russia are part of Eurasia.

There's a ton of oil in the shale formations in federally owned land in the Rockies.

No, you're wrong. In the systems where you have fewer continents, eurasia can be described as a single continent. It's preferred in Russia that covers both. Some people even go as far as to include africa and call it afro-eurasia The 4 continent system is afro-eurasia, America, Antarctica and Australia. 5 continents is America, Antarctica, Africa, Eurasia and Australia, 6 is either America, Antarctica, Africa, Europe, Asia and Australia or North America, South America, Antarctica, Africa, Eurasia and Australia and the 7 continent system is North America, South America, Antarctica, Africa, Europe, Asia and Australia

And Canada has all of these: expanding economy, vast natural resources, powerful allies and much more

Canada has it all but which nation will ever take Canada's warnings seriously? I reside in Canada and I actually prefer the soft-power approach for this nation. Canada and America still have huge swath of land and resources available for further economical/population growth. We won't experience any power-shift away from North America in our life-time that's for sure.
