Hey, I know that book!

Poland rises in a ostensible coallition force with the United States that will emerge as plausible subsequent to the second fall of the slightly resurging Russia after the 2020s and will be solidified around the 2040s and throughout a global world war between the United States, Poland, Turkey, and Japan--the two latters being superpowers as well. A war won by the United States, later abandoning Poland, through space-based technological advantages that will be somewhat impaired early on due to rogue Japanese "missile" attacks.

George Friedman's The Next 100 Years--a geopolitical foretelling of the next century.

I literally have the book right next to me, all 253 pages and then some.

EDIT: That is also why I said Mexico. The book ends with the rise of Mexican cultural and economic influence near and in the United States that will challenge it into the following century, perhaps.

Machete looks like a shitty movie, by the way, the lack of Bruce Willis and Jews and what not.

We are the Glorious Empire of the Scandinvans. Surrender or be destroyed. Your civilization has ended, your time is over. Your people will be assimilated into our Empire. Your technological distinctiveness shall be added to our own. Your culture shall be supplanted by our own. And your lands will be made into our lands.

Not nearly as insane as the space-based energy sources, Mexico becoming the center of gravity exceeding that held currently by the United States in a geopolitical sense, and the whole population decline thing.
