Keep in mind that the GOP only did that after the democrats previously removed the filibuster for all judicial appointees outside of SCOTUS. Then the GOP did the final straw.

Fifty-four percent of Americans said they disagree with a recent Supreme Court ruling that allowed a six-week abortion ban in Texas to take effect while legal challenges play out in lower courts, according to a poll released Monday.

The survey by Monmouth University also found that broad majorities of Americans oppose key components of the Texas law, with seven in 10 saying they disapprove of a mechanism that empowers private citizens to enforce the abortion ban through civil lawsuits.

An even larger number, roughly eight in 10, expressed disapproval that the law provides $10,000 when those lawsuits succeed against someone who performs an abortion or aids a woman receiving one in violation of the six-week ban — an award critics have likened to a bounty.

You didn't call out behavior, you made a baseless ad hominem. You made a bad faith posts to carry the water for Ifrean's bad faith posting. It's typical.

Ifreann wrote:Democrats are shit too, but if you need me to say that before you'll give any real response to my points then it's probably not worth it.

I gave responses to your points, but you doubled down on the line that all Republicans are, essentially, bad faith actors. Never mind the ridiculous partisanship to the point of being false on its face, it's incredibly telling of the real agenda. You didn't engage with merits of the poster's argument, you just called him a disingenuous Republican because he has a thin blue line flag. It's a bullshit take, and you should know better.

I'm talking about Republicans because that's relevant to the post I was initially responding too, but this is true of everyone. No one with any sense tells their opponents how to beat them, not in any kind of contest they actually care about winning. If the other football team tells you not to make a certain play because they'll reverse it and score, don't trust them.

Yes other nations do have a filibuster. The UK, where the idea came from, has a talking only filibuster that as soon as they stop talking it’s over

Yes it shows that Republicans are out of step with public opinion on this and continuing down this path risks turning off voters especially women.

I’ve seen a good bit of suburban women get turned off of republicans because of it. But the more rural you go the more support these measures have.

it wasn't as if there isn't enough supplies of the vaccines or border patrol personnel to go around

what's the basis of this expulsion, anyway? do haitians have the tendency to rapidly and randomly transmogrify into papa or baby doc?

This is true but if Republicans continue to lose suburban voters they will find themselves out of power in many states soon.

It’s almost the case in Arizona and Georgia.

Hence why they passed the voter suppression bills. There are terrified of losing power and would rather cheat then win a free and fair election.

I don’t remember AZ passing one. So apparently we passed three and they are pretty tame compared to Georgia’s. The good news is that unlike Georgia people in AZ can challenge a law through a referendum.

Which has happened and they seek to get on the ballot in 2022

Okay but the views of suburban people in general tends to be trash so we can discard their opinions. Disenfranchise the suburbs (except any that I may be living in, those ones get an exception).
