Abolitionism in the North has leagued itself with Radical Democracy, and so the Slave Power was forced to ally itself with the Money Power; that is the great fact of the age.

The triumph of the Democracy is essential to the struggle of popular liberty

At least you passed your driving test, which good job btw, be proud of that.

First try passing with a 91, with having done no driving school classes or anything, just driving with my permit, practicing in my driveway/on the private road, and having done 2 major drives (like 2 hour drives) with a friend, I feel pretty happy.

I mean I am way late to the game. I'm 27. So the fact my dads been taking me to work the WHOLE pandemic and work in general (When he went to work he'd drop me off on the way), I feel like I've just spent years observing and absorbing driving experience so it took me a lot less practice than it would if I was driving at 16.

Murphy will win in New Jersey. I have little doubt of that.

While his win is a win, it still kind of bothers me that a candidate who lost the primary tried to get on the ballot, was told he couldn't, so he just staged a write-in to win instead. While I consider write-ins legitimate it just rubs me the wrong way and bothers me that he won that way.

Yeah, NJ is just a mess tonight.

Also it seems like the Virginia House of Delegates will barely be going 50-50.

And finally for ballot measures:

New York Proposal 1(Redistricting Changes): Rejected
New York Proposal 3(Allow Same-day registration): Rejected
New York Proposal 4(Allow No-excuse Absentee Voting): Rejected

Hard to believe for New York, but 85% or thereabouts of the state is in, and a couple of those question have "Blank" as a spoiler.

Here's another snippet from NYT about New Jersey's issues:
Nate Cohn Just now

An example of the difficulty in New Jersey is Bergen County, where Republicans may — or may not — be on track to hold on to their lead. One election document says they've counted heavily Democratic mail votes; another says they haven't.

I really feel like a lot of this comes down to voter apathy about the whole thing, because it feels like nothing is changing so why go out and vote in any substantial way?

Its weird, this place is weird, I hate it.

Just low turnout, really. Outside of Buffalo, there wasn't really anything competitive to drive most voters out. Turnout's an astonishingly bad 23% statewide.
