Why the hell is NJ close.

I'm surprised as you are but the number one issue is taxes based on what I see, particularly property taxes, which are some of the highest in the nation. That, is an issue he's winning on with voters although I didn't think it would be that big.

Also, Burlington County is only 40% counted, and Ciattarelli leads there 56-44%. I think it will be close, but I feel Jack may pull an upset. It's so close right now.

NJ's always been closer on the state level than they like to advertise, but as to Ciattarelli specifically, I actually don't know myself. NYT hasn't really mentioned it.

Taxes, specifically property taxes. It makes sense now that I look at it. Do bear in mind, Essex is 90% reported; Passaic 30%; Burlington is 40% (Ciattarelli leads there by a decent margin).

True, but still surprised. Especially with Murphy having a positive approval rating.

I was hearing some more rural places even within said counties were being called before the rest, so its kinda weird.

Virginia is ending up almost spot on to the polling averages at the moment. Not sure what NJ is doing though.

It is weird.

I will say this: one Legislature, Steve Sweeny, is in real risk of losing his seat. It's 51-49% right now. To give you an idea, he won the last time 58-41% but the area he represents is Trump Territory. That's Salem County btw.

Abolitionism in the North has leagued itself with Radical Democracy, and so the Slave Power was forced to ally itself with the Money Power; that is the great fact of the age.

But the amount of hold it has taken on in NJ is surprising. In the past, it didn't matter as much but it seems it does this time. It's still too close to call, however.

Now NYT's making a mention. They're saying that New Jersey's counting's been somewhat haphazard(you think?) and that there really isn't any information as to what's being counted where. Every vote's being counted, obviously, they mean the counties aren't being too forward on information as to whether mailed ballots are being counted now or later.
