Ok so you know more than the CDC now or they are wrong to you? What happened to listen to the experts?

I thought we were supposed to ignore the CDC because they're not elected.

I get the feeling that we've had this exact same discussion before at some point. Bit odd, isn't it?

Greetings from Italy. I have read some posts about the anticovid measures in Italy, some of them correct, others a little less.
Let me clarify: today, March 2022, while all of Europe has almost completely removed the restrictions, in Italy, although infections are declining, citizens who choose not to receive the third dose of vaccine (and of course, those who have never received any vaccine) cannot work, not even remotely, nor receive a salary. They cannot enter any shop, except supermarkets and pharmacies, nor enter hospitals except in life-threatening situations. They cannot use any type of public transport (trains, ships, airplanes, buses, subways). The only "concession" obtained so far is to eat popcorn at the cinema and at the stadium.
Consider that in Italy 91% of citizens received the anticovid vaccine, and we are still in this situation....
Pls sorry for bad english

I mean...we have been having the same discussion with Lumen for 2 years at this point. So far they continue to insist on strawmanning people's positions, fear-mongering, refusing to answer questions, and repeating the exact same rhetoric.

Whatever you do, don't base it off of the USA's. In fact, probably base it off of Germany's or New Zealand's. they've been doing pretty good.

They have had a hilarious discussion in another thread, where Lumen got more and more.frustrated by GMS treating him exactly like Lumen treats everyone else.

Neither learned anything from it though.

That said, no. GMS is way older.

So how did the “smart” policy of letting the virus spread unchecked actually work out for Sweden?

There's a difference between not-stopping-right-now and 'permanent'.

It's weird that you're asking "what part of this do people not get" when I've repeatedly explained all these details to you, and you still either "don't get" it, or pretend not to. (I don't care which one it is).

But the important thing is - I don't think you understand what is being aimed for. Whether or not 'new variants' can be stopped isn't the point. 100% stopping all cases wasn't the point.

It seems like your whole covid argument is a strawman.

For as long as we're dealing with regular surges of deadly plague, yeah maybe we should all just get used to using masks when in risk heavy places? Isn't like it's so difficult to wear some fabric over your mouth for as long as you're in big crowds.

I think for some, the problem with masks is that they are a reminder of the deadly plague that is still happening. They very badly want to just ignore the plague, thus the arguments that there is simply nothing to be done so we may as well stop trying. It's a plea to put the whole thing out of sight.

It's remarkable how Biden's new Covid policy is reminiscent of Trumps 'no new cases if we don't test.'

Yeah I also get that vibe, people just want to return to their 'normal' and leave all this behind, even the elements that are honestly just easy common sense.

Covid cases and hospitalisations in England are rising – and experts don’t know why

Funny how this is happening after the government ditched all restrictions and made it almost impossible to trace the spread.

The vast majority of the masks I'm seeing now are old people, which sends quite a depressing message.

You are not suggesting the endings were politically rather then medically determined?

But hey. It’s just a bad flu and healthy people have nothing to worry about about. Especially the kids…they are immune.
