How?

Federalizing the election laws when that power over election laws solely belongs to the states.

I guess the VRA and Help America Vote Act was unconstitutional then.

They're not. There is a serious issue about how the parameters will be redefined by Congress and whether the SCOTUS will uphold those parameters. As I've mentioned, I have no way to really gauge the impact this law would have. I'll do some legwork in a bit before Ko overheats and does an effortpost that makes my eyes bleed with its length and sources.

IDs are needed to do a lot of things in this country, including getting a job, purchasing alcohol, owning a firearm, etc. Speaking of, I need GOA to argue in court that firearm regulations are unconstitutional because they are in fact a form of systemic racial discrimination. Would be based.

Additionally, I have no idea who decides to vote in the twilight hours. I suppose people with wonky night shifts. Or vampires. Or, perhaps, single parents who can finally secure a babysitter for their kids.

With the new parameters, Congress would have to ensure that disparities unconstitutional laws create based on the VRA would be predicated on race or language. Really, a new law might be preferable.

"Then it was as if all the beauty of Ardha, devastating in its color and form and movement, recalled to him, more and more, the First Music, though reflected dimly. Thus Alnair wept bitterly, lamenting the notes which had begun to fade from his memory. He, who had composed the world's first poem upon spying a gazelle and who had played the world's first song upon encountering a dove perched upon a moringa, in beauty, now found only suffering and longing. Such it must be for all among the djinn, souls of flame and ash slowly dwindling to cinders in the elder days of the world."

its a solution to a problem that doesn't exist and are a burden to many. If you want voter ID then provide it for free when one registers to vote.

It might not be. There is talk of carving out an exception to the filibuster for voting rights.

That rule isn't going anywhere plus Democrats only hold the Senate because the Vice president is Democrat and if the Democrats lose just a few seat in the House then they will lose the House. Midterm election have never been good to the party in power.

Unconstitutional. It directly contradicts a Supreme Court ruling that states that individual states can decide to bar felons from voting.

Oh no, I did. I just wasn't sure if you'd read it, as elucidated in the post by Omniabstracta that came not even a minute after mine, there is very much a specific statement saying that congress can change voting laws without much specificity as to the limits of such agency.

If you wish to change the Constitution then by means go ahead but unless you can get two thirds majority in both houses and two thirds of all state legislatures to agree, nothing will happen. There are also these ways as well:

Proposal by convention of the states, with ratification by state conventions.
Proposal by convention of the states, with ratification by state legislatures. Proposal by Congress, with ratification by state conventions.
