A good question. At the very least they should be made to follow some basic standards of safety in their labs, along with the withdrawal of funding from outside China for any and all of their projects until they can prove they have done so.
Also, lab leak claims true or not, the rest of the world needs to disentangle themselves from reliance on the exploitative Chinese economy.

Not sure what you were trying to prove by addressing this to me specifically, considering I've been the one skeptical of China's narrative and handling of the pandemic for well over a year now - and for what it's worth I don't consider Trump to have been a terrible president either. A little nuts, sure, but I liked him infinitely more than his predecessor or his successor.

We're not in a position to cut trade or arrest party members either because China owns most of America's manufacturing.

Yes we are. China relies on us to keep their economy running. Yes it might hurt for a bit but if we shift our manufacturing around and get Europe and other nations on board we can hit China where it hurts.
Saying we can’t do anything so we are screwed is just defeatism

Just doing business with them is a national security risk, but companies care about short term profits over anything else. It's time for our government to tell them no, so yes, I agree.

You can't even set up business in China without the CCP directly involved.
We have celebrities, role models and even our athletes simping for them.
