A good question. At the very least they should be made to follow some basic standards of safety in their labs, along with the withdrawal of funding from outside China for any and all of their projects until they can prove they have done so.

Also, lab leak claims true or not, the rest of the world needs to disentangle themselves from reliance on the exploitative Chinese economy.

I think a harsher response is needed, but this seems at the minimum appropriate

Not sure what you were trying to prove by addressing this to me specifically, considering I've been the one skeptical of China's narrative and handling of the pandemic for well over a year now - and for what it's worth I don't consider Trump to have been a terrible president either. A little nuts, sure, but I liked him infinitely more than his predecessor or his successor.

I do not understand the conservative's love for the "free market." It causes massive socioeconomic problems which damage the society you want to preserve, and corporations promote woke values on top of it. Giant conglomerates would sell out America to China if they could make a quick buck on it.
