Both of you are being rather simplistic of the matter. Hamas is an organization with a great deal of influence over the Palestinian Authority. It is the de facto government of Gaza, where there have not been elections since 2006. Even in the fantasy world where Turkey invades Israel or Gaza, drawing a distinction between Hamas and the government of Palestine as if they are totally separate entities is to refuse to recognize the reality of power in the country.

Seperating hamas from the palestinian people basically removes palestinian responsibility for puting them into positions of power.
