I can’t see how this is going to solve any problems in Russia. So how’s banning Japanese animation about religion going to give Russia the improvements they need to better their country?

Comic books versions of majority of those shows are in magazines targeted to 12-18 year olds. Some had presence in magazines meant for adult demographic. (Not xxx magazines just sfw[?] Magazines that's meant to cater 18-45 year old dudes.)

As someone that used to live in Japan, I can tell you that this is not the case. The overwhelming majority of Japanese animation (anime) is intended for kids. It's only that the majority of anime that gets exported is geared for teenagers and young adults.

I have personally never really cared for anime, but it does seem rather silly for Russia to have such a ban. Isn't Buddhism recognized as a co-official religion there or something? Buddhism has reincarnation.

What if someone in Russia wanted to view the specific media anyways? What if they're old enough and just don't give a damn about "the sake of the children" excuse?
Parents should perhaps limit access to shows themselves in their own households, rather than wanting the state to ruin things for everyone else.
