An excellent idea; the socialists at the BBC have leeched off the British public for far too long.

You know im kind of glad that we had a snap election in 2017 here in Northern Ireland. It means we get the decrease in seat numbers (108 > 90) out of the way, reduces the size of the DUP and Sinn Fein in the process which is good, AND increases the likeliness of S P I C E in next years election.

Why was there a decrease in seat numbers? As far as I'm aware the country isn't now smaller.

A lot of people felt there were too many seats and wanted it reduced. And in 2014 there was some bill about miscellaneous provisions regarding NI going through Parliament that had an amendment added via the House of Lords to allow NI to reduce the seat numbers for each constituency from 6 to 5.

Sinn Fein initially opposed it but ended up agreeing to it alongside the DUP and a bunch of others.

Only four seats counted, but they all went to Labour, so they have 51 right now.
Dresderstan wrote:SNP GAIN Ayr Majority of 170. 1.2% swing to SNP.

So SNP's now taken a seat from Labour and the Conservatives. Anything from the Lib Dems they could take?

True, they haven't lost as much as expected so far, but it's still been a pretty bad 24 hours for them.
