So, here we go again:

"U.S. Intel Walks Back Claim Russians Put Bounties on American Troops

It was a blockbuster story about Russia’s return to the imperial “Great Game” in Afghanistan. The Kremlin had spread money around the longtime central Asian battlefield for militants to kill remaining U.S. forces. It sparked a massive outcry from Democrats and their #resistance amplifiers about the treasonous Russian puppet in the White House whose admiration for Vladimir Putin had endangered American troops.

But on Thursday, the Biden administration announced that U.S. intelligence only had “low to moderate” confidence in the story after all. Translated from the jargon of spyworld, that means the intelligence agencies have found the story is, at best, unproven—and possibly untrue.

Here we have a prime example of the right's collapsing of opposition down into a mush that can be molded and held up in whatever form they like - such as calling #resistance twitter, with its rotating cast of ex-Republicans, war criminals and machine politics centrists as 'leftists' so they can be denounced as simultaneously extremists and somehow complicit in the imperial war machine.

4/10 as agitprop overall - contains a worthwhile criticism of the credulity of the US political establishment, brought down by Facebook uncle tone and spittle density

Yeah, I can easily dismiss anything Tucker Carlson or Jimmy Dore has to say about anything.

Tucker and Fox are literally the most popular news outlet in the United States in terms of viewers and searches. You can't be more mainstream than them. Which makes the screeching about the MSM all the more comical.

Well, for being MSM, Tucker and the rest of the FOX pundits screech like a banshee about MSM. Could it be? Could it be all projection? *pretends to be shocked*

I have to ask when are all these people advocating for war with Russia signing up to serve?

Wanting war with Russia is just being a sociopath at this point.

Russia doesn’t need to interfere with America we are destroying ourselves quite fine.

I agree, the Obama administration had the right idea of embargoing their economy into the group until they behaved. No shots fired, and took away Poutine's ability to pay rent on his country.

Oh great, another guy who doesn't trust the "MSM" then proceeds to cite Tucker Carlson from Fox News, a mainstream media.

Great self-own, my dude.

Besides, "racist podcast man" or whatever other fucking 'alt media' we're allegedly supposed to be getting our news from, is hardly any more trustworthy (or even as trustworthy) as the "MSM".

The Trump campaign manager Paul Manfort knowingly passed polling and strategy information to Konstantin Kilimnik, a Russian agent. That is treason. But nice attempt at deflection there.

Apparently, placing sanctions on Russia for interfering with America's elections is equivalent to advocating for war. We should let Russia do whatever they want without consequences.

Russia is the ultimate boogeyman for the United States Government. Ever since the Cold War ended they've been used as a scapegoat and an excuse to bump up military spending, enter low-level oil wars in the Middle East, and lately for the media to use as a distraction ploy regarding the 45th POTUS.

The American establishment's obsession with Russia needs to end, lest they spend too much time on it and ignore real international diplomacy and military issues, such as those involving China.

Russia and China are both bad. We should focus on both.

And you cited not only a mainstream media site, but the shittiest one out there. Fox News, winner of three golden clown awards and six comedy central top 10 trophies.

Frankly we shouldn't be the world policeman anymore. We did a bad job and the world doesn't want us constantly getting involved in it anyways.

To be honest, I think the USA does a better job of being world police than most countries would.

It's just not a job that any single country should have.

True on both points. But the UN doesn't have the teeth or the will to do the job, either, and as long as Russia and China have Security Council seats, it never will.

I agree 100% I love coalitions when it comes to holding other countries accountable.
