You know nothing about power dynamics if you think the people fleeing to the US are in any position to really change their country before it’s too late for them. There is no culture war. It’s a made-up phenomenon that the right is by definition always losing, because it was made up to spark outrage. Palingenetic ultranationalists are always losing, that is their ideology, and they use that to justify their violence. But in terms of governmental power and societal influence, the far right is definitely gaining.

Short term, maybe. Just in my lifetime legal discrimination has been removed, same-sex and interracial marriages have become legal, poll taxes and literacy tests have been banned; these are examples of where the progressive/left has won (and I am not complaining about them, they are good things).
