All governments are established on violence. Republicans are certainly no exception to that rule, although they are particularly bloody when they come to power.

Totally want to go to 'Straya and NZ, tho.
Also, the sheep thing? Completely old hat. Been dairy cow country for years. So much so you only have sheep if you couldn't switch to dairying.

What are you smoking?
lol, I am not smoking anything, I don't like to smoke. I am the only person in the world who believes Bill Clinton when he said he did not inhale, because I did not inhale either. I am strongly against any illegal drug use.

Weed is legal in my state. Guess who inhaled Wednesday night.

January 1788.
Though if we're being pedantic it was the Kingdom of Great Britain rather than the United Kingdom.

As for Iran, it should be patently obvious why Iran doesn't give a shit any more.
You could make an argument for the First Fleet being an invasion of Australia and the subsequent Australian frontier wars. Though it's probably not the best comparison to the invasion of Iran in 1941.

Hang on, Papua New Guinea?

It's... difficult to know what the exact geopolitical situation was like at the time, but it's extraordinarily unlikely that the groups the First Fleet encountered conceptualised an Australia that we'd recognise. Possibly they thought of Australia in more or less the same way that we'd think about Europe, Africa or Asia. Indeed, Australia kind of doesn't exist until 1901.
Frontier war or, at least, warfare is definitely an appropriate way of thinking about contact/the frontier in Australia. And it was, in large part, justified on the doctrine of terra nullius, i.e. that Australia was more like Antarctica.
